Helping in the Community

We encourage our members to be active members in our community. Either volunteering for various local non-profits or supporting civic and cultural events. Our club holds an auction annually in December to raise funds for local non-profit organizations. Donations to our auction are always appreciated.

Agencies chosen by Charitable Research Committee as recipients of donations from our 2003 Holiday Auction

Big Sky Cancer Recovery and Resource Center

Big Sky Cancer Center has served over 500 individuals since it's inception in 2002.  It has no regular source of income.  The center was initially given a one time grant by the Bozeman Deaconess Hospital and now relies solely on donations, memorials, and fund raising.  The mission of the Center is to offer comprehensive supportive care to the cancer patient and their family by addressing the physical, emotional, spiritual and educational needs of those affected by cancer.  There are many ongoing support groups.  Navigational services and an annual retreat which includes speakers, workshops and support groups to serve cancer victims are also provided.  No one is turned away due to inability to pay.

The Network Against Sexual and Domestic Abuse

The Network 653 adults and 145 children who were primary and secondary victims of domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking during the past year.  It provides a 24 hour crisis line, shelter, legal advocacy, youth advocacy education and community outreach programs.  One-half of their funding is guaranteed for this year and the remaining is dependent on grants, fund raisers and donations.  They especially need funds for counseling of victims and their children, as well as money for food vouchers, gas and telephone cards.

Bridger Alternative School - Bridger Program

The Bridger Program ( a branch of the Bozeman High School for 'at risk' students) serves approximately 100 individuals annually in the school setting and has contacts with about 50 others who do not attend classes.  This program is funded at the same rate as other district schools.  The day care is funded primarily by United Way and the State of Montana.  There are, however, students who exist on a crisis level with many personal needs including food vouchers, school supplies, medical and dental services.
